WOW
World of Wearable Arts
This Term Totara children have been working hard on their designs and costumes for our Wearable Arts Competition. This year we decided to focus on Festivals and Celebrations from around the world. Children were to choose a country and then a festival or celebration from that country. The children are working in groups of no more than 3 people. They had to come up with a design that was made of recycled materials. Next week the groups are going to have their costumes and workbook judged, we can't wait to see all their finished products. On Monday of week 10 Totara will have a presentation evening at school with our community.
Here is a link through to WOW which originated in Nelson and is now held in Wellington.

Hello Totara
ReplyDeleteMy name is Elyse Williams and I attend Waima School, and I was so glad when I stumbled across your Wearable arts post, because I personally love wearable arts!
We sometimes do wearable arts here at our school and it is always so much fun creating your own style of fashion and being able to parade it around in front of others, so I can't wait to see the finished product.
Yours ELyse
